Arnab In an unprecedented event earlier this evening, Arnab Goswami, the Editor-In-Chief for Times Now, stayed silent for a full 5 seconds during News Hour, allowing his guests to speak, and sending the TRP ratings for the channel soaring through the roof. This shocking moment occurred while the usually chirpy Arnab was interviewing an expert panel of celebrities, regarding Borivali’s recent demand for statehood.

The news has been received with varied reactions from all over. Rajdeep Sardesai, from a competing news channel, said he’d like to maintain a dignified silence regarding this development, right after pointing out that the gimmick was ‘too low even by Arnab’s dwarfish standards’. Mahesh Bhatt called in earlier today from his mobile home parked permanently outside the offices of 24×7, saying that the news was provocative, communal and biased. He further demanded that the censor board be banned for this. When pointed out that the Censor Board had no role to play in this incident, he said that it was beside the point, and the censor board should be banned regardless. Throughout the telecon, Suhel Seth, seated beside Mr. Bhatt, kept shouting obsceneties. When asked to comment, he said that he was infuriated with the situation for no particular reason and threatened to go without a hair cut for a further six months.

The most candid response came from the expert panel itself. Apparently, they were flabbergasted that Arnab betrayed their trust on national television. As usual before News Hour, the panel had been briefed that absolutely no answers would be required from them throughout the program, since Arnab will keep questioning without pauses; their role was restricted to trying to fit in as many interjections and conjunctions (Whoa!, But, Ah!) in between to give the illusion of them actually having something to say. So, fifteen minutes into the program, Ms. Ameesha Patel was understandably embarrassed when she found herself forced to sing ‘Yeahhh lazy lazy lamhe…’ to Arnab’s question on her opinion on a federal government structure.

On the other side of the border, Pakistan Interior Minister, Mr. Rehman Malik, noted that this was a difficult time for Pakistan, and urged the citizens to be brave and help the nation to collective overcome these forces of evil. When reminded that it was the Times Now incident and not another bomb blast for which his reaction was being sought, he noted that this was a difficult time for Pakistan, and urged the citizens to be brave and help the nation to collective overcome the forces of evil.

Arnab himself chose to downplay the incident, pointing out that the magnitude of the incident had been blown out of proportions by the media. ‘I remember being silent for a full 6 seconds back in 1985 while honing my interviewing skills on my pet dog. That being said, I know that the people of India are dying for an answer. So, you can join us today on News Hour to find out WHY ARNAB PAUSED,’ said Arnab with his trademark authoritative voice, while leaning over the desk on one arm.

Note: All of this is obviously untrue. Arnab didn’t pause.

How humiliating it must be for the panel to be there and seal their mouths like retards! And you say, it was pre-arranged.
I think George Orwell was totally right- the mainstream media are the pigs of modern society. They assume unimaginable power and are never held accountable even though they are the ones who actually play the real dirty game. Lol, forgive me, but mainstream coroprate media these days totally gets in to my nerves. I have switched on to the more democratising media these days…just because there is a lesser risk to feel brainwashed there.

Wish you a happy festive season,

    A.

    To,
    Arnap Boswami,

    Sub: Nuclear Liability.

This has reference to the hard hitting debate, which you, conduct over the Times now News Channel are always direct and put the politicians in corner.

With respect to the nuclear liability bill, if any disaster has to occur, or if it occurs, the minimum of 10,000 people will either die, or get paralysis or suffer from different type of diseases due to radiation.

If you divide these 1500crores over 10,000 people, then per person on an average the rehabilitation will be Rs.15lacs.

Whereas the B.P. USA has spent around 15 billion i.e. 45,000 crores just on the oil spill.

We feel that, this was just a set up to announce 500 crores, then pass the bill in the parliament for 1500 crores instead it should be 10 billion.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Nitin A Kshirsagar.

Arnab Goswami is a first class example of a mediocre having an opinion and rendering judgments on issues which he cannot even fathom. Shame on the Times Group, the Media fraternity and the ill informed people of this country to allow this incompetent person hold daily media trials and deliver judgements all in the name of debate. Any other contry and he would have been tried for subversion of media and abuse of journalistic freedom. Height of complacence on the part of TOI group to be tolerating such inaptitude and callousness.

  • Sujit

Arnab Goswami is the biggest idiot to hit the Indian News Television. He believes that god himself has given him the right to judge issues. He is extremely prejude and never listens to other peoples opinion. He brings in famous people for discusions and make a fool of them. The worst part is that he does not listen and keeps on interrupting and goes ballistic if someone dares to cross his line of thinking. He is using media as a means to increase the TRP ratings of his channel and in the bargain trying to position himself as the greatest news person in India. This guy lacks integrity and is only interested in sensationalising issues rather then creating a condusive atmosphere to resolve this isssues through media.

  • aravind

Times now is the stupidest news channel of the nation and arnab is the greatest stupid to led a news channel ever. Times now sells news. For better sales record, arnab and his team of stupids create news. Arnab can sensationalize anything with his news channel. He is just a businessman and he has nothing to do with being the fourth estate of India. Save those ill-fated people who attend his newshour.

  • http://none Sharad

the problem can be solved if the panelists would stop talking when Arnab is interrupting.

  • Maina Edward

Arnab Goswami is the most amazing journalist of this time…people don’t wanna admit to the truth…you are best Arnab keep going…….

    • AP

Journalist?? if he is journalist then everyone who comes on TV and rants deserves to be called journalist. He is just an anchor, a loudmouthed anchor.

      • Classical Guy

Well, he is better than any in the present lot of any channel except Karan Thappar but limited to Devil’s Advocate and Face the nation

  • chandra

it is unfortunate is it not mr.arnab….the same old response from the central/state govt ….to be calm, thaks that mumbaikars were on duty immediate next day….we will take severe action against terrorism,,,like that….
    don’t we have

  • Offspinner

Aranab is a pathetic News anchor and interviewer. He is too patronising, has bad name pronounciation and a very poor sense of understanding. He should call his show the “shouting match”, with him heading the list.

    A recent horrible story…
Times Group requested Kapil Sibal to ban derogatory contents on Arnab Goswami on the internet find it out on google…
